Madness! Hoverboards are Illegal!

So guys, about a month ago I bought a mini Segway or “Hoverboard” or “Eagleboard” or whatever they are being called and I have been riding around London, happy as Larry, until today, when a colleague of mine informed me of the news…. That “Hoverboards” have now become illegal -

They don’t meet the standards of section 72 of the Highway Act 1835…. So hold on…. These things have been on sale in the UK for a couple of months now and you couldn’t tell us this before we went and threw away £350.00+. So what am I supposed to do now? Because I don’t think the company will reimburse me and I’m really sure the government won’t reimburse me, so who is at fault here? I will contact the company and get back to you guys next week!
