Great Weekend for Sport
GAs we run up towards the festivities of Christmas the Great British public have been treated to an early gift, sporting success. It has been a superb weekend firstly as Great Britain won their first Davis Cup for 79 years. This is an incredible achievement that drew a particularly jovial response from Murray, who said that success was more emotional than a Grand Slam success or his Olympic Gold. Secondly, the Formula 1 season drew to close at Abu Dhabi with Hamilton officially crowned title winner, despite a disappointing run of form towards the back end of the season. Lastly, Tyson Fury best known as the ‘The Gypsy King’, out boxed and outmanoeuvred the most devastating heavyweight champion of the last decade in Dusseldorf, stunning all of the doubters. Klitschko had not been since 2004 and has second reign as champion included 19 successful defences. This sums up a fantastic weekend of wonderful achievements Great Britain can boast as we commence a sociable festive period.
