M.E. Funding Statistics

When researching for our campaign on M.E., finding accurate figures for the funding of M.E. research.

As mentioned in our item, ME. is twice as common as Multiple Sclerosis, and three times as common as HIV/Aids, but it is often said that M.E. receives funding that is disproportionate to the impact of the condition. We submitted a Freedom of Information Request to the Medical Research Council, to gain more clarification on funding. While we did receive a response, it was unfortunately too late to include in our item. However, the information received is posted below:

It should be noted that the Medical Research Council is not the only source of funding in the UK, but it is a major organisation which is funded by the UK taxpayer.
